Nollywood posters collection

The idea of collecting Nollywood posters emerged in parallel to my collage artwork and my collection of painted posters from Liberia. Using numerous Nollywood posters for my collages, I was constantly hunting for new posters. I rapidly realized that there were no Nollywood archives and that the posters I was collecting could have a heritage value.

Visiting Lagos in 2015 for the first time, I also realized that film makers themselves barely keep a record of their numerous movies and that I had already in my collection quite unique pieces.

I did not really have a proper record keeping of my Nollywood posters, but I estimate that I have almost 1000 posters (mostly from Nigeria, but also a little bit from Ghana and Liberia) dated from 1995 to 2018.
